WWE A new report has revealed whether IYO SKY’s WWE Women’s Title win was a “last minute” decision or not.
At WWE SummerSlam 2023, IYO SKY successfully cashed in her Money In The Bank contract on Bianca Belair to win the gold following Belair winning a triple threat match against Charlotte Flair and Asuka.
This created a special moment on the show with SKY celebrating her title win with her Damage CTRL stablemates Bayley and the returning Dakota Kai.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update on IYO’s huge win, noting that they are not sure how far ahead SKY was informed she’d be winning the title, but it wasn’t a last minute booking decision.
SKY has been riding momentum since her breakthrough performance and crowd reaction in Puerto Rico against Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at WWE Backlash.
Since then, IYO SKY went on to win the women’s ladder match at the Money In The Bank premium live event ahead of this memorable moment at SummerSlam.
As previously reported, someone who IYO is familiar with, Kairi Sane is reportedly on her way back to WWE.
