WWE There was a near-unmasking during the opening match of tonight’s episode of WWE NXT on the USA Network.
After joining forces over recent weeks, SCYRPTS came out with Bronco Nima and Lucien Price to observe Axiom taking on Mustafa Ali in the opening match of the night.
While Ali and Axiom put on a great match, the extra eyes at ringside didn’t actually get involved, instead a swerve coming near the end of the match for an entirely different reason.
During the final sequence of the match, Mustafa Ali grasped at Axiom’s mask while he was on the top rope and nearly pulled it off, leading to Axiom prioritizing holding onto and re-securing his mask rather than staying balanced up top.
This left Ali open to give Axiom a shove, sending him flying to the floor before Ali got him back in the ring to hit a 450 Splash and picked up the pinfall victory.
After the match, Mustafa Ali cut a promo without a mic saying that he was starting a campaign to become the new North American Champion so whoever wins the title match between Dominik Mysterio and Dragon Lee tonight, he wants next!
As for Axiom, there have been plenty of hints on NXT TV that we all know it’s A-Kid under the mask from his time in NXT UK.
