AEW AEW CEO Tony Khan has commented on finding out on the fly how difficult it is to book two big back to back AEW pay-per-views.
In an appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Tony Khan spoke about the very exciting event AEW All In coming up on August 27, live from London’s Wembley Stadium.
Regarding discovering the challenges of putting on the two shows so closely together, Khan kept it optimistic.
Tony Khan said:
“Well we’re gonna find out (the challenges of presenting All In & All Out closely together). It’s gonna be exciting to do it and it’s going to be the first time anybody’s tried anything like this.
“AEW’s got our biggest show of all-time coming up very soon, August 27th at Wembley Stadium. It’s gonna be a massive, massive event. I’m so excited for the show and in particular, I wanna say, right now, the ticket sales are unprecedented.
“This is the biggest pro wrestling event in the history of Europe. No show ever in Europe has sold more tickets or had a bigger gross than this so it’s pretty special and it’s one of the biggest wrestling events in the history of the world now.”
While AEW’s pay-per-view debut in London is on August 27, it leaves a fast turn around in programming as the stars head back stateside for another important week of shows.
The following weekend AEW continues its Labor Day tradition of AEW All Out in Chicago on September 3, 2023.
Elsewhere in the chat, Tony Khan was asked about some resurgence in reported backstage drama in AEW.
Khan declined to comment however noted he was glad to hear that fans were interested in AEW and their wrestlers.
