Real Reason Major Star Refused To Turn Heel

Real Reason Major Star Refused To Turn Heel WWE

Arn Anderson has explained why Cody Rhodes refused to turn heel while they were working together during Rhodes’ AEW run.

Towards the tail end of Rhodes’ AEW career, the American Nightmare started to receive more negative reactions from fans.

Despite teasing a character change, Rhodes didn’t ever turn heel before his departure in February 2022.

Since then, Rhodes has been wrestling as a popular babyface in WWE.

Speaking on his ARN podcast, Anderson noted that Rhodes was more interested in being a role model to inspire young fans.

Anderson said:

“Cody has such a strong need or want to do the right thing, to be a role model; he wants to do something the kids can look up to …

“I tried to explain to him, ‘Cody, I get that you want to do the right thing, you want to be a babyface, you want to be a positive force for kids…’

“I don’t give two s**ts about being a role model, if a guy thumps me in the nose, I’m gonna head butt him right between the eye. I believe in one-upmanship.”

Anderson has now revealed that the contract of his son Brock Anderson is set to expire very soon.
