Former AEW Star Joins WWE

Former AEW Star Joins WWE WWE/AEW

A huge update has emerged on the status of former AEW star Brian Pillman Jr, following his recent visit to the WWE Performance Center.

Following Pillman’s AEW contract expiring last month, the star was spotted training at the WWE Performance Center on July 13, the day after it was reported that he had left AEW.

After an initial report about WWE interest in Pillman, it was reported that Pillman actually had a WWE tryout during his time at the Performance Center.

Per PWInsider, Pillman officially started with WWE NXT this week.

It is unclear how long it will take for Pillman will make it to our screens however, with PWInsider reporting that there’s ‘no rush’ to have Pillman debut, as the original plan was always to get Pillman into the Performance Center system and allow him to find his feet as a WWE talent.

Pillman previously teased a ‘huge opportunity‘, fuelling speculation about a possible WWE run.

Brian Pillman Jr’s father, Brian Pillman Sr, notably wrestled for WWE from 1996 to 1997, ahead of his death in October 1997.

Prior to this, Pillman Sr made a name for himself in WCW.

Brian Pillman Jr most recently wrestled at The Gathering 4, unsuccessfully challenging for Kerry Morton’s NWA Jr Heavyweight Title.
