Former AEW Star Explains How Contract Negotiations Broke Down With The Company AEW

A former AEW star has explained how contract negotiations broke down with the company.

Despite spending less than a year with the promotion, many fans will say that Bobby Fish’s time in AEW was at least memorable.

Reuniting with Undisputed Era stablemates Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly as well as challenging for the TNT Championship and AEW World Tag Team Championships, Fish made the most of his 10 months with the promotion.

As previously reported, Bobby Fish has explained what led to his departure from All Elite Wrestling.

In a new interview with Developmentally Speaking, Fish revealed why his AEW run was so short lived. He explained:

“I would only agree to a year contract because, to be honest, he [Tony Khan] wasn’t giving me enough of his money,”

“But listen, you’ve got to know your worth, right? That’s really what it came down to, nothing more, nothing less …”

“I put a higher price tag on my value than they were, and we tried to see if there was some place to meet in the middle, and at that time there just wasn’t, you know? And that’s what it comes down to.”

Ultimately, Bobby Fish has made it clear that he holds no ill will towards Tony Khan or All Elite Wrestling following his run.

After leaving AEW, Fish appeared for IMPACT Wrestling and competed for the IMPACT World Championship against Josh Alexander in 2022.
