Details Of Major New WWE International Event Seemingly Confirmed WWE

Details of a major new WWE international event have been seemingly confirmed by a local newspaper in the area.

While there were previous reports out of Perth, Australia that WWE officials had visited, now it seems that post-merger with UFC/Endeavor to form TKO, WWE is ready to put pen to paper.

The West Australian writes:

One of the great sporting spectacles in the world is coming to Perth, with US giant World Wrestling Entertainment bringing the extravaganza to WA.

The Sunday Times understands the Cook Government and the professional wrestling promotion company are just days away from announcing a WWE show at Optus Stadium early in 2024 — before the start of the AFL season in late March.

Optus Stadium has a capacity of 60,000-70,000 depending on the setup so it seems this show would likely be a major international premium live event.

WWE hasn’t been on tour in Australia since 2019 as planned tours in 2020 and 2021 were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, in terms of major events, WWE held a Super ShowDown show in Melbourne, Australia in October 2018 at Melbourne Cricket Ground, which was said to have an attendance of around 62,000.

That show was headlined by Undertaker vs Triple H in a no holds barred match.

We’ll keep you posted when more details for the upcoming event are confirmed.
