WWE On tonight’s episode of WWE Raw (September 25) it was confirmed that John Cena does indeed have a match for WWE Fastlane 2023.
On the last episode of SmackDown, AJ Styles was attacked backstage by Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa and it was made clear the expected tag match for Fastlane with Cena and Styles teaming up against Uso and Sikoa wasn’t going to be happening.
Later in the show, Uso and Sikoa were beating down John Cena in the ring, which was originally planned to bring out LA Knight to make the save, likely leading to Cena and Knight vs Uso and Sikoa being the actual Fastlane match.
However, LA Knight was pulled from the show at the last-minute after testing positive COVID-19, so instead, the show ended with the beatdown, with Uso and Sikoa standing tall over Cena.
On tonight’s WWE Raw, it was officially announced that Cena is set to face off against the Uso and Sikoa in a handicap match at the upcoming WWE Fastlane 2023 event.
It’s unknown how long LA Knight will be out of action, so we don’t currently know whether he’ll be added back in to make it a tag match, if somebody else will replace him, or if it’ll simply remain a handicap match.
Of course, we’ll let you know any updates, but as of now, WWE has announced it as a handicap match.
Also, Shinsuke Nakamura and Seth Rollins are confirmed for WWE Fastlane in a Last Man Standing match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
