WWE WWE star Johnny Gargano has taken to social media to address his upcoming return to NXT after his return was announced.
On tonight’s episode of NXT it was revealed that next week, Wes Lee would have a match against three former NXT North American Champions.
In an oddly worded stipulation, Wes Lee was announced to have a match against three stars from the WWE main roster, which if he won, he would get a North American title shot at NXT Deadline.
It was later revealed that Wes Lee would be taking on Big Bronson Reed, Cameron Grimes and Johnny Gargano in order to determine if he would advance to Deadline against Dominik.
While any incentive for the trio of main roster stars wasn’t clear, Johnny Gargano took to Twitter to write:
“I have quite the history with Grimes and Bronson.. and I’ve been a fan of Wes’s work for quite a while!
“And you all know what happens when #JohnnyWrestling shows up in an @WWENXT ring..
“Needless to say.. I think you’re going to want to see this one.”
For the love of the sport perhaps!
Elsewhere on tonight’s show, Blair Davenport bested Thea Hail in order to advance to NXT Deadline to compete in the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge.
Also, Josh Briggs beat Carmelo Hayes to advance to the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match at Deadline after interference from Lexis King costing Hayes the match.
NXT Deadline is the next premium live event set for December 9, 2023, at the Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
