The injury status of AEW World Champion MJF following his Full Gear match with Jay White has been revealed.
AEW ran an injury angle with World Champion MJF at Full Gear, when his leg was attacked by the Gunns following their match on the Zero Hour pre-show.
MJF’s leg injury was an angle for the match, but he did reportedly leave the match ‘banged up’, with him said to have a shoulder injury.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has provided an update today, noting that MJF does have a legitimate injury, suffering a shoulder injury at Full Gear off the top rope Uranage spot.
MJF tweeted the following, which has interestingly now been deleted:
I just got an MRI.
I tore my labrum in my left shoulder.
I’ll be defending my title at worlds end.
I believe in AEW.
MJF was scheduled for an AEW World Championship defence against Samoa Joe in his hometown of Long Island at AEW World’s End next month.
Sean Ross Sapp has followed up on the original post, noting that MJF is still expected to wrestle on the show, and will be undergoing treatment hoping to avoid surgery.
