AEW After the ratings figures for this week’s AEW Dynamite were shared online, AEW CEO Tony Khan reacted to the news.
This week’s edition of Dynamite (December 27) saw the finals of the AEW Continental Classic Gold and Blue leagues to determine who would advance to AEW Worlds End to the tournament final.
While it would eventually be revealed to be Jon Moxley taking on Eddie Kingston to determine the inaugural AEW Triple Crown Champion, there were plenty more big moments on the show.
Including MJF losing the ROH tag team titles to the ‘Devil’s Masked Men’, and the announcement of Mariah May’s AEW in-ring debut, it seems fans were invested in the show as well.
After pulling a higher than has been average as of late viewership figure this week, Tony Khan wrote:
“Thank you all who watched Wednesday #AEWDynamite last night on @TBSNetwork, thank you to the @AEW team in & out of the ring,
“Because of you + great fans, last night was the best @AEWonTV rating since Grand Slam in September, which bodes well for #AEWWorldsEnd ppv THIS SATURDAY!”
According to Wrestlenomics on Twitter, AEW Dynamite drew a viewership figure of 843,000 viewers with a 0.31 in the key 18-49 years old demographic that advertisers target.
While this episode of AEW Dynamite did in fact best this week’s December 25 ‘Best Of’ edition of WWE Raw. it had an unusually low number of viewers due to the Christmas holiday.
