There has been an update on Kazuchika Okada amid his NJPW departure, free agency and WWE or AEW signing speculation.

Top New Japan Pro Wrestling star Kazuchika Okada is now officially a free agent, with his contract with NJPW expiring on February 1.

With Okada set to leave NJPW, many have speculated about what his next move in wrestling may end up being, whether that be signing with AEW or WWE.

In an update on Okada amid speculation, he filed to trademark his name ‘Kazuchika Okada’ on January 29 with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The following description accompanied the filing:

Okada also previously filed to trademark his ‘Rainmaker’ nickname with the USPTO on January 12.
