WWE A WWE star was seemingly injured during a match on tonight’s NXT and it was stopped midway through by the referee.
UPDATE: Joe Gacy appeared backstage after the match and said he’s okay, and a match between Gacy and Shawn Spears was announced for Stand & Deliver (this may have been taped before the match though).
On tonight’s episode of WWE NXT, a match was stopped for seemingly a real concern for wrestler safety, with the referee using the ‘X’ hand motion and ending the bout.
In a match between North American Champion Oba Femi and Joe Gacy for the title, it appeared Gacy’s head smacked against the mat when landing after being thrown by Femi.
With the referee checking on Gacy when he seemingly didn’t get up for a planned spot, the ref immediately put up the ‘X’ hand sign as the camera cut away from showing Gacy at all and the match ended.
The camera remained fixed on only Oba Femi as it was announced that due to referee stoppage, Oba Femi retained the North American Title.

Elsewhere on tonight’s episode of WWE NXT, Axiom and Nathan Frazer were able to beat the LWO and the Good Brothers in a three-way to go on to Stand & Deliver to challenge Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker for the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Also in a heated Supernova Sessions, Lyra Valkyria put her challenger at Stand & Deliver Roxanne Perez through a coffee table.
