Cody Rhodes Injury Scare Update Ahead Of WWE Backlash 2024 WWE

The April 26, 2024, episode of SmackDown saw the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes take on recent NXT call-up Carmelo Hayes.

The main event match, which can be seen below, saw Rhodes favoring his shoulder part way through the match.

Dave Meltzer has now provided an update on the injury status of The American Nightmare on Wrestling Observer Radio, saying:

“He’s not listed as injured, they never mentioned it on TV so it’s not a worked injury either it’s not like some storyline because it was never mentioned.

“I was told that it’s not listed as an injury, a real injury so whatever it was it might just be something minor, it might be nothing at all.

“It’s probably nothing at all significant.”

While Rhodes’ injury is “probably nothing at all significant”, the same can’t be said for a number of other WWE stars, including Drew McIntyre and CM Punk who were involved in a segment on the April 29 episode of WWE Raw.

Cody Rhodes defends the Undisputed WWE Championship at Backlash against AJ Styles and recently teased a new ring jacket.

WWE Backlash takes place in France on May 4, 2024, marking the second time the PLE has taken place outside the United States.
