WWE Bloodline Member Officially Undergoes Name Change

A member of the Bloodline WWE faction has had his ring name officially changed, following other recent changes to the group.

There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding the lineup of the Bloodline following Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Championship loss at WrestleMania 40.

With the Tribal Chief not appearing on WWE TV since April 7, Solo Sikoa has been acting as the group’s unofficial leader, replacing Jimmy Uso with the debuting Tama Tonga on the April 12 edition of SmackDown.

Another star joined the Bloodline at this month’s Backlash pay-per-view, with Tama Tonga’s brother and tag-team partner Tanga Loa joining forces with Solo Sikoa.

With WWE recently filing trademarks for both “Tanga Loa” and “Tonga Loa”, there was some speculation that the former NJPW star would be renamed on WWE TV.

WWE has now officially changed Tanga Loa’s name, with the new WWE star billed as “Tonga Loa” on a graphic ahead of Tama Tonga’s match against Angelo Dawkins on Friday’s (May 10) SmackDown episode.

While some fans speculated that this was a typo, WWE referred to the Bloodline member as Tonga Loa on the official SmackDown results article on WWE.com, which noted:

With Bobby Lashley not medically cleared to compete, Angelo Dawkins stepped in to battle Tama Tonga in the first round of the King of the Ring Tournament.

When order broke down, Solo Sikoa and Tonga Loa took advantage of the chaos and unleashed a 2-on-1 beatdown on Montez Ford. The distraction allowed Tama to drive Dawkins into the canvas to pick up the victory and advance to the quarterfinals.
