Popular AEW Star Pitched Involvement In Double Or Nothing AEW

Following his return on last Wednesday’s Dynamite, popular AEW star Darby Allin has revealed he pitched his involvement in Double Or Nothing.

On the May 15 edition of AEW Dynamite, Darby Allin made his return to the company and revealed himself as Eddie Kingston’s replacement for Team AEW against The Elite in Anarchy In The Arena at AEW Double Or Nothing.

This return took place just two months after Allin suffered a foot injury against Jay White at AEW Big Business. It also came just a few weeks after Darby suffered a broken nose after being hit by a New York City bus.

Speaking with Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp ahead of Double Or Nothing, Darby Allin revealed he was in the process of helping his father move into a new home when he heard about Eddie Kingston’s injury.

Allin stated that he decided to call AEW President Tony Khan to see if a plan could be made to put him in the Anarchy In The Arena match.

Darby admitted that he was on a road trip with his parents when the news of Kingston not being cleared for Double Or Nothing. He called Tony Khan and pitched his involvement at the pay-per-view.

Khan said as long as Darby was cleared, he could take part in the match, so Allin had to get clearance from his foot doctor, nose doctor and AEW doctors, but he also admitted he was still in a lot of pain.

Darby revealed that he called Tony Khan on the night before the May 15 AEW Dynamite, while he was in Yellowstone National Park with his dad.

Allin said anyone surprised by his appearance on last week’s Dynamite should be because he wouldn’t have believed that he was heading to Seattle on the morning prior to his call with Khan.

Darby Allin will team with Bryan Danielson and FTR to face The Elite’s Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry and The Young Bucks in the Anarchy In The Arena match this Sunday, May 26 at AEW Double Or Nothing.
