AEW/WWE Following her potential last WWE match, AEW President Tony Khan has commented on Becky Lynch amid WWE contract expiration.
On the May 27 episode of Monday Night Raw, Liv Morgan defeated Becky Lynch to retain the WWE Women’s World Championship in a Steel Cage Match.
Recent reports indicated that Lynch’s contract is set to expire this week, potentially making the Steel Cage Match on Raw her last appearance before her contract expiration.
Despite many believing Becky will re-sign with WWE eventually, many fans are curious if “The Man” could make the move to All Elite Wrestling next.
Appearing on The Rich Eisen Show, AEW CEO Tony Khan was asked about signing free agents from WWE. After stating he would be “open to” signing more free agents, Eisen pointed out that Khan didn’t mention anyone by name and wondered if he was considered with “tampering.”
On the topic of contract tampering with potential free agents from WWE, Khan said:
“I don’t want to try to tamper and do those things. I try to keep it classy and I really have a reputation for honesty and I really want to be a fair businessman. The wrestling business is a really cut-throat business.”
When asked about having interest in Becky Lynch specifically, Khan replied:
“You invoked the tampering word.”
Khan did agree that Lynch is a “great star”.
