‘Inmates Running The Asylum’ – Former Champion Details Frustrations With AEW Run AEW

Following recent backstage reports, former AEW World Tag Team Champion Frankie Kazarian has detailed frustrations with his former company

AEW Double Or Nothing 2024 marked the five year anniversary of the start of the company.

While original stars like MJF, Jack Perry and Jon Moxley appeared on the show, one original in Frankie Kazarian has since parted AEW at the start of 2023 to make the move to TNA Wrestling.

Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Frankie Kazarian explained his frustrations with AEW, citing the company’s lack of leadership and creative direction. He said:

“Inmates running the asylum in a way, no real direction,”

“I think there was also, at least when I was there, a lot of stories that were presented — ‘We’re going to do this, this, and this.’ But after that, then what are you going to do? That was always a problem.”

Kazarian also expressed his feelings that All Elite Wrestling is losing its goodwill among the fans.

Despite his frustrations with the company Kazarian did have fond memories of the company’s early beginnings, reflecting on early meetings with The Elite and Tony Khan.

Kazarian recalled:

“I was in meetings in undisclosed hotels at two in the morning where it was myself and The Young Bucks, and Cody, and Chris Daniels, and Scorpio Sky, and Kenny (Omega), and Tony Khan, talking about what would become AEW.”
