Former WWE Star Details Reaction To Surprising Character Change

Former WWE star Elias, now going by the ring name “Elijah,” has detailed his reaction to the surprising character change to Ezekiel.

In September 2023, WWE made their latest round of talent cuts, which included former 24/7 Champion Elias. Following his release from the company, Elias, now known as Elijah, has been making appearances on the independent wrestling scene.

During his final run in WWE, Elijah made a surprising character change from Elias to his own twin brother of Ezekiel back in 2022.

Speaking with Metro, Elijah explained his reaction to the surprising character change to Ezekiel. He said:

“From a comfort standpoint, it was definitely interesting,”

“But it’s another one of those things where I’m like, ‘Okay, boss, I’ll make the best of it.’”

On thinking WWE should have done more with his family storyline, Elijah said:

“I still have a character in mind for my older brother Elrod,”

“I think we’ve opened up a whole box of characters and creative outlets we could possibly go in.”

Elijah will face TNA Wrestling’s Joe Hendry for North Wrestling in the U.K. on Saturday, July 13.
