Instagram @carmelo_wwe/WWE WWE star Carmelo Hayes has congratulated his real-life girlfriend Kelani Jordan on her championship win at NXT Battleground.
At Battleground, Kelani Jordan was able to beat five opponents to become the first ever NXT North American Champion.
Carmelo Hayes took to Twitter to send a message to his partner, writing:
CHILLS! So proud of this girl. Legit hardest worker I know. She gonna set the bar high with that title!! #AChamp #FirstEver #NXTBattleground
After her victory, Kelani was featured in a backstage segment with Battleground host, Sexyy Red, who helped her celebrate the win.
Elsewhere on tonight’s Battleground, NXT Tag Team Champions Axiom and Nathan Frazer, and the North American Champion Oba Femi, retained their titles at the premium live event.
In the women’s division, NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez retained against Jordynne Grace, and Lola Vice defeated Shayna Baszler in the NXT Underground match.
