WWE Cody Rhodes gathered with a squad of fellow former AEW stars on-screen during tonight’s June 11 edition of WWE NXT.
Earlier in the show, Cody made in-ring appearance where he informed Trick Williams that his next opponent would be determined next week.
Announcing 25-man battle royal, Rhodes also noted that while some of the entrants may be familiar to Trick Williams, others may be from “different locker rooms” potentially teasing surprises for the show.
There was another moment featuring Cody Rhodes towards the end of the show, this time featuring numerous fellow former AEW stars.
Rhodes was shown backstage bumping into for AEW rival and real-life friend Shawn Spears, before they were joined by two others.
Rhodes and Spears were joined in frame by Ethan Page and Lexis King, also former AEW stars, King being under his real name Brian Pillman Jr.
Before leaving, Rhodes said: “Seems like you guys are in a good place”.
In a separate backstage segment earlier, Cody was shown gifting a piece of wrestling history to NXT’s Jacy Jayne.
Jayne, who was wearing her own face shield after having surgery on her nose, was given Rhodes’ ‘Undashing’ mask from many years ago.
Jayne wore the mask later in the show’s final segment teasing the upcoming challengers for Roxanne Perez’s WWE NXT Women’s Championship.
