WWE An intriguing finish to a match on tonight’s episode of NXT could potentially point to a WWE star turning heel.
To open tonight’s episode of WWE NXT (June 11), an in-ring promo segment from the first ever NXT Women’s North American Champion, Kelani Jordan.
After Jordan beat five other women in a ladder match at Sunday’s NXT Battleground premium live event, she was greeted warmly by the fans.
Noting that because she’s the inaugural winner and the title has no lineage, the responsibility to raise the prestige of the title is on her.
She was then interrupted by Jaida Parker who noted that the only thing Kelani proved at Battleground was she could “scurry up a ladder like a squirrel”.
While Parker noted that she planned on beating Michin tonight to get a title shot at Lani, instead she was jumped from behind by Michin.
The scheduled match between Parker and Michin then took place, which would eventually see the Good Brothers, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, appear to support Michin.
When Jaida Parker attempted to involve a chair, Anderson prevented her from using it, setting up Michin to pick up a roll-up victory before celebrating with her OC teammates.
Anderson and Gallows have been presented as heels recently, both on NXT in their feud against Axiom and Nathan Frazer, and on SmackDown with their reunion with AJ Styles.
Michin had been separated from them for a few weeks, but if they’re reunited too, it could mean Michin turning heel, which would make sense if she now goes on to challenge babyface Jordan for the North American Title after her win against Parker.
It’s also worth nothing that tonight’s NXT is set to feature a guest appearance tonight by AJ Styles’ upcoming Clash at the Castle opponent, Cody Rhodes, so there’s a possibility there could be more OC involvement on the show.
