WWE Star ‘Touch & Go’ For Major SummerSlam Match WWE

Following the June 21 edition of SmackDown, a new report has revealed the latest update on a major WWE SummerSlam match.

At WWE Clash At The Castle, Damian Priest defeated Drew McIntyre to retain the World Heavyweight Championship thanks to interference from CM Punk.

On the June 17 edition of WWE Raw, McIntyre said he quit the company due to his frustrations with what happened with Punk.

Then, McIntyre attacked and bloodied Punk in his hometown of Chicago on the June 21 episode of SmackDown.

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported the latest update on Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk possibly taking place at WWE SummerSlam. Meltzer said:

“It’s touch-and-go about SummerSlam. They’re hoping for SummerSlam.

“It (the attack on SmackDown) buys them more time. The hope is Punk’s ready for SummerSlam – it was not a sure thing.

“That’s the big show, that’s where they want it.”

It remains to be seen how long Punk will be off WWE television following the attack on SmackDown at the time of this writing. He has been out of in-ring action since the Royal Rumble due to injury.

McIntyre is scheduled to appear on tonight’s June 24 edition of Monday Night Raw to address his attack on Punk.
