WWE Following his appearance on the NXT brand, WWE crossover star and TNA’s own Joe Hendry has made a reference to John Cena.
On the June 18 edition of WWE NXT, TNA Wrestling star Joe Hendry made a surprise appearance in the 25-man battle royal to determine Trick Williams’ opponent for the NXT Championship at Heatwave.
Despite being eliminated in the opening minute of the match, Hendry’s debut received massive social media numbers, including breaking the record for WWE’s most viewed Twitter/X video of 2024 so far.
As previously reported, Hendry has since hinted at making another appearance at NXT Heatwave in Toronto.
On June 26, Joe Hendry took to social media to post a photo of former 16-time WWE Champion John Cena in a similar fashion to the legend.
Cena is known for his Instagram posts where he simply posts a photo of another wrestling star or celebrity as a tribute to them, so Hendry took a page out of Cena’s playbook here.
Joe Hendry is set to face Jake Something in a Road To Slammiversary Qualifier to earn a spot in the 6-Way TNA World Championship main event for the titular event. The match will also include Moose and Josh Alexander as of this writing.
