Does Triple H Treat WWE As A Sport Revealed WWE

With WWE abandoning the term “sports entertainment” for their product, Triple H has shared his thoughts on whether it’s a sports business.

In the past few months, WWE has moved away from the term “sports entertainment”, once again referring to their product as “wrestling”.

AEW commentator and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross described the move as “logical as hell.

Triple H has now shared his thoughts on where WWE fits in the entertainment world during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

The WWE Chief Content Officer and head of creative addressed his vision of the company’s product, saying:

“I say this a lot; we’re not a sport. We’re a movie about a sport or a TV show about a sport.

“The interest of all the other things happening are just as great as what happens in the ring.

“People are so interested, in not only the storylines, but who are the real people behind those storylines? The drama behind it.

“If you’re younger or want to buy into it that much, the drama of the storylines.”

Following the departure of Kevin Dunn from WWE, changes were made to the television presentation.

It was reported that changes were being made to make WWE television “feel more like a sports show.

Sami Zayn has recently commented on the “out of the box” changes to WWE production.

The changes came under the tenure of Lee Fitting, Dunn’s replacement, with plans also revealed to change PLE presentations.
