AEW star Billy Gunn has recalled missing the D-Generation-X reunion on the October 12, 2022 edition of Raw, sharing his honest thoughts on the situation.
With WWE celebrating 25 years of the D-Generation-X faction in October 2022, Triple H, Sean Waltman (X-Pac), Shawn Michaels, and Brian James (Road Dogg) were all reunited on Raw.
While Billy Gunn was absent from this reunion at the time, reports following the event indicated that WWE had “at least tossed around the idea” internally of having the AEW star at the show.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Billy Gunn explained why he wasn’t there for this reunion, noting:
“Yeah, it was just a miscommunication. It was trying to get (there) and believe you me, I get it. I work for a completely different company. If I can do it, fine. If I can’t get it I’m not gonna (be mad). I spent the majority of my life doing that company and being a part of it. So of course, they want me to be there.
“But if the company that I’m with now has some issues of what they need and what they want, and if it doesn’t work out, then I can’t go, I can’t be mad about it. You know what I mean? And was I upset? Yeah, cuz I want to hang out with the guys and relive that moment as much as you can. But if it doesn’t work for the company that pays me then I’m not gonna go.”
Gunn was in action on the October 12, 2022 Dynamite episode, losing to Swerve Strickland.
Billy Gunn also addressed his in-ring future and potential retirement plans in this video, naming the star who he wants to face in his final match.
